Location

Milland village boasts a community run store and cafe, a charming duck pond, playground and popular pub which serves great food. Just three miles away is Hollycombe Steam in the Country, an unforgettable family attraction.

There are golf courses close by - Liphook Golf Club, which is a delightful heathland course is a mere mile away, while the Cowdray and Goodwood Estates also have quality courses.

The 'open air' Weald and Downland Museum at Singleton is always interesting with its extensive collection of historic buildings and also the filming location for the Repair Shop. The nearby West Dean Gardens also hold a variety of events throughout the year.

Our cottages are perfectly placed as a base from which to watch polo matches at Cowdray (including the Gold Cup) or enjoy horse racing and motorsports at Goodwood.

Chichester offers a wealth of activities and has a renowned theatre (Chichester Festival Theatre), art gallery (Pallant House), cathedral, shops, cinema etc. Not far from Chichester is Fishbourne Roman Palace.

Petworth has an abundance of interesting antique shops and clothes boutiques. Petersfield has a market in its main square on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is a lovely Hampshire town, well worth a visit.

For spa enthusiasts, Milland House Cottage is minutes away from Champneys Forest Mere and Old Thorns Manor, both of which offer a range of spa treatments and sports facilities.

Family Friendly

There is so much on offer for families in the local area. Just down the road is Hollycombe Steam Fair, home to the largest traditional fairground in Britain, steam railways, farm and listed woodland gardens.

During October Half Term we would highly recommend booking Rogate Pumpkin Patch where you can pick your own pumpkin and enjoy the Halloween activities. If you enjoy exploring on bikes then Queen Elizabeth Country Park is definitely worth a visit, a large country park situated on the South Downs in southern England.  We have a huge amount of walking and cycling routes right on our doorstep which allow you to explore deep into the South Downs.

A little further afield are the fantastic beaches at West Wittering, Hayling Island and Southsea offering fantastic days out at the seaside.

Food & Drink

Food & Drink

Whether you are looking for a gastro pub, fine dining or a delicious brunch there are plenty of places in the area to try.

The nearest pub to the cottages is The Rising Sun located in Milland renowned for its outstanding atmosphere, great food and perfect setting. The Duke of Cumberland Arms is a must when visiting the area, a quintessential English pub, perched on top of a hill with stunning views over the South Downs offering great locally sourced food and brilliant service.  Our top tip is to book inside the old pub area.   If you are looking for fine dining then pay a visit to MOMA, a Mediterranean and Japanese fusion restaurant with a modern, relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, located on the bustling high street in Haslemere.  A little further afield is The Pig at Arundel, and we strongly advise booking in advance.

For a spot of brunch or a slice of cake we would recommend Cowdray Farm Shop and Café, Midhurst  or the Hungry Guest café and delicatessen in Petworth, a lovely café hidden away in the gardens at Newlands House Gallery.
